Authentication
Access to Monotype capabilities requires authorized authentication. Follow the steps below to obtain your credentials and complete authentication.
Retrieve Client Credentials
Before you can authenticate, you need a Client ID and Client Secret. Request these from your Monotype partner contact. Before development begins, confirm:
- Platform credentials have been issued
- Required permissions are enabled for your intended capabilities
- Your platform's callback address is registered (required for user-level access)
- Platform credentials have been issued
Complete Authentication
Monotype supports two authentication patterns:
- Platform-level access - Background operations — inventory sync, usage reporting, tag management
- User-level access - Accessing a specific user's Monotype font library and collections
- Platform-level access - Background operations — inventory sync, usage reporting, tag management
Most integrations use both.
