James Potter is Chief Operating Officer at Monotype, where he oversees Strategy and Corporate Development, Sales Operations, Go-to-Market Enablement, Customer Success, Creative Services, Foundry, and the Monotype Printer division.

James brings more than 20 years of experience as a commercially focused operator, with a distinctive blend of expertise advising large, complex Fortune 500 companies on growth strategy and operational transformation, while also leading execution and scaling initiatives within mid-sized organizations.

Prior to Monotype, James served as President of Forpak Automation and as Chief Commercial Officer at Dunes Point Capital, a mid-market private equity firm. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years in consulting focused on growth strategy and innovation, and began his professional journey in General Electric’s Financial Management Program.

James currently serves on the Board of Strata Worldwide, a leading mining technology company.

Outside of work, James lives in Massachusetts with his wife and three children. He enjoys golf and skiing.
