WOBURN, Mass., December 16, 2025 — Monotype Imaging Inc., a global leader in type and technology, congratulates the 2025 winners of the Type Directors Club Adé Hogue and Beatrice Warde Scholarships.
The Type Directors Club (TDC), the world’s leading typography organization, announced the winners as part of its annual global student scholarship program. The Adé Hogue and Beatrice Warde student scholarships help foster the next generation of designers and the future of the typographic industry. Monotype has supported TDC student scholarships for over a decade, sponsoring the Adé Hogue and Beatrice Warde student scholarships since their inception.
“These three talented students demonstrate the incredible variety and creativity of today’s typography and design landscapes, and deeply impressed the juries in a field of very impressive entries. The future will present them with both unexpected challenges and new creative possibilities; we’re so grateful to partner with the Type Directors Club to support young creatives at this formative point in their studies, and to encourage the fresh perspectives and new skillsets to meet that future,” said Sara Soskolne, Executive Creative Director at Monotype.
Two winners were named for the 2025 Adé Hogue Scholarship: Katherine Ispache, a student at the California Institute of the Arts, and Charitssa Stone, a student at Yale University, School of Art.
The scholarship is awarded to one or more outstanding BIPOC students in their junior year of college or first year of graduate or postgraduate school who demonstrate exceptional talent and promise in the design or use of letterforms. The $5,000 scholarship will be split between the two winners. The Adé Hogue Scholarship is given in memory of Broderick “Adé” Hogue, a Chicago-based art director, letterer, and avid cyclist who was passionate about fostering diversity in design.
The 2025 Beatrice Warde Scholarship was awarded to Siyun Li, a student at New York’s School of Visual Arts. This $5,000 scholarship celebrates one female-identifying college student in their junior year who shows exceptional talent and sophistication in typography, lettering, type design, or design criticism. The award was named after the TDC’s first female member, Beatrice Warde, a journalist, typographic scholar and communicator, and education advocate.

In addition to the financial awards, the winners of each scholarship also receive a one-year TDC student membership, complimentary admission to all TDC events, and a copy of the TDC annual The World’s Best Typography®.
