Presenters:
Sara Soskolne
After many years as senior designer at Hoefler&Co contributing to iconic font families like Gotham®, Verlag, Chronicle, Tungsten and Sentinel and leading the design of Quarto, Ringside and Decimal, Sara continued her work at Monotype following the acquisition of Hoefler&Co. There, she recently led the design of the Gotham® Variable font family, after also creating several bespoke styles of the Gotham® Condensed font family for the newly opened Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.
As a reformed bookworm, Sara’s abiding inspiration as a typeface designer is the experience of reading; and as an only partially reformed Torontonian living in New York, she still spells like a Canadian and can’t really think in Fahrenheit.
Dan Rhatigan
Dan has over three decades of experience as a typesetter, graphic designer, typeface designer, and educator. After completing the MA in Typeface Design at the University of Reading, he has held senior roles at Monotype, Adobe Fonts, and other type companies, alongside publishing his own typefaces and collaborations through Bijou Type.
Jordan Bell
Jordan is a Senior Type Designer and Letterer at Monotype, with a passion for handwriting, type design, and American typographic history. Originally from Texas, he studied at Abilene Christian University before completing the MATD program at the University of Reading in the UK.
Before joining Monotype, Jordan worked at Hoefler&Co., contributing to typefaces including Operator, Inkwell, and Decimal, as well as projects such as Archer, Ringside, and Sentinel Pro.
