Noto Grantha by Zachary Scheuren.
In his words.
Zachary Scheuren is a lead script specialist for Monotype, where he designs and engineers typefaces for various world scripts. He studied film production and foreign languages at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and then was an editor in Los Angeles’ film industry.
After years of shooting, editing and animating film title sequences, he left film to attend the Typeface Design program at the University of Reading. There he focused on the Khmer script, designing a Khmer typeface and writing a dissertation on the history of print in Cambodia. The next several years were spent as a software engineer in London and Tokyo building tools and plugins for film and television post production workflows.
A typeface five years in the making, Google Noto spans more than 100 writing systems, 800 languages, and hundreds of thousands of characters. A collaborative effort between Google and Monotype, the Noto typeface is a truly universal method of communication for billions of people around the world accessing digital content.
