Creative Professionals Can Now Upload Font Inventories within Mosaic, Offering a Single, Centralized Platform for Font Discovery, Collaboration and Management

WOBURN, Mass.--()--Monotype (Nasdaq: TYPE) today announced enhancements to its Mosaic® platform, transforming how creative professionals for enterprises and agencies centralize the management of their font collections. Mosaic, Monotype’s cloud-based font discovery, collaboration and management solution, now enables users to upload non-Monotype desktop fonts within the platform, creating a more flexible and enterprise-ready way to discover, design and deploy projects across their creative networks.

Teams that upload third-party inventory will experience the discovery, collaboration and user management benefits of Mosaic just as they do with Monotype’s own font inventory, without the need to switch between multiple applications. While many third-party fonts can be deployed within Mosaic, the ability to use the functionality is subject to individual third-party license agreements and any usage restrictions.

“Publicis services a global network of prestigious and diverse advertising, public relations, media, healthcare and digital marketing agencies, posing a significant design challenge for designers to access the assets we need and collaborate across teams,” said David Plavin, Global Architect, Creative and Production Systems at Publicis Re:Sources. “Mosaic allows us to easily search for the right fonts for our projects, and the added ability to upload our complete library of fonts will improve collaboration and font management. These capabilities are a great leap forward, and will provide significant benefits to our worldwide team of designers.”

Additional enhancements to Mosaic include:

  • A desktop app for Windows and Mac systems that allows designers to install and immediately design with any font within Mosaic, including third-party fonts, with a single click of the mouse;
  • An improved navigation experience that simplifies search, collaboration and administrative functions;
  • Two new customizable user roles, which give enterprises greater flexibility in assigning access and editing capabilities; and
  • An in-product Help Center designed to make it easier to navigate various features within the product.

“Enterprises and agencies are pushing themselves creatively to differentiate their brands and stay ahead of the competition, which means that they are continuously experimenting with new designs to set themselves apart,” said Brett Zucker, CMO at Monotype. “Pulling in and deploying fonts from a range of disparate solutions can add weeks to a project timeline and introduce unnecessary complexity and risk to the creative process. Mosaic solves for that with a centralized solution for teams to upload all of their desktop font inventory, discover and experiment with new fonts, collaborate effortlessly, and access Monotype’s vast type expertise.”
