Friedrich Althausen is a type designer based in Monotype’s Berlin office. After his studies at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Friedrich worked as a freelance designer with a special interest in book typography and letter drawing. He has designed typefaces for several textbooks on subjects such as mathematics and Cartography, and his typeface “Vollkorn” became widely known as one of the first free web fonts on the internet.
Felix Kett is a Typeface Designer and typographer from Germany. With his interest in type reaching back to early school days, joining the Monotype Studio team in 2020 was only the next logical step. He splits his professional focus between typeface design and technical aspects of font production.
Andy Lethbridge is a Type Designer and lettering artist in the Monotype Studio, having previously been part of Fontsmith since 2015. His letterforms have appeared everywhere from banknotes to billboards, and he has created bespoke designs for several global brands.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Senior Type Designer Fernando Mello went to the UK to study in the MA Type Design program at the University of Reading in 2006, from which he was approved with distinction. He soon joined Fontsmith, where for over a decade he has been involved in the creation of several innovative, functional and well-constructed typefaces. Fernando joined the Monotype Studio in January 2020.
