Douglas J. Shaw
President, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Doug has been president and CEO since 2007, the same year in which he led Monotype to a successful IPO. Prior to his current role, Doug served as executive vice president, and in 2004 he oversaw the management initiative leading to the Agfa divestiture and the formation of Monotype. Doug has more than 30 years of experience in executive and management positions, having served in the type industry for most of his career. In 1986, he co-founded the Font Technologies division of Compugraphic – establishing the business that would eventually become Monotype. Doug holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Boston College and a master’s degree in business administration from Babson College.
Scott E. Landers
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Assistant Secretary
Scott joined Monotype in 2008, bringing with him more than 15 years of experience in the software and public accounting industries. Prior to Monotype, he was vice president of global finance at Pitney Bowes Software, a $450 million division of Pitney Bowes Inc. Scott also served as vice president of finance at MapInfo Corp., before its acquisition by Pitney Bowes. Scott is currently on the board of directors and is a member of the audit committee of Bridgeline Digital. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Le Moyne College and a master’s degree in business administration from The College of Saint Rose.
John L. Seguin
Executive Vice President
John joined Monotype in 2004 as senior vice president and general manager of the company’s Display Imaging business. In his current role as executive vice president, John is responsible for Monotype’s business units, inclusive of go-to-market strategies, customer relationships and revenue. He has held executive management positions at various high-tech companies, including Sand Video, Zoran, Oak Technology and Bitstream. John holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Southeastern Massachusetts University and a master’s degree in business administration from Suffolk University.
Senior Vice President, Engineering
Steve joined Monotype in 2005 as vice president of engineering, responsible for product development, research and development, and type design. Prior to that, he served in executive management positions in engineering at Newmarket International and Nuance Communications. Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science at Fitchburg State College and his master’s degree in computer science from George Washington University.
Janet M. Dunlap
Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Janet oversees all legal, compliance and intellectual property matters for Monotype. Prior to joining the company as general counsel in 2006, Janet was a partner at Goodwin Procter LLP. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Franklin and Marshall College and a juris doctorate from Boston College Law School.
Vice President, Corporate Marketing
Lisa joined Monotype in 2011, and is responsible for the company’s branding and corporate marketing strategy. She has held executive marketing positions and built brands of long-term value at several high-tech companies, including Arbor Networks, Vertical Communications and RSA Security. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Art and English from Williams College.
Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Solutions; Managing Director, Monotype Ltd.
John has been with Monotype Imaging Ltd. and its predecessors since 1993. He has held various executive management positions during his career at Monotype, including vice president of Creative Professional, and managing director of Monotype Imaging Ltd.
Vice President and General Manager, ISV and Strategic Accounts
Ira joined Monotype in 2010 in his current position. Prior to that, he formed Ascender Corp. and served as its president until the company was acquired by Monotype. He has also held executive management positions at Agfa Monotype and was president of Monotype Typography Ltd. Ira is a certified public accountant and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from DePaul University.
Vice President, Human Resources
Jennifer joined Monotype in 2013 to lead talent strategy and human resources operations worldwide. Prior to joining Monotype, she has held executive positions with dynamic technology companies over the past 15 years, most recently as senior vice president of global human resources at Intralinks, and vice president of human resources and business operations at Kadient, Inc. (now Qvidian). Jennifer brings more than 20 years of experience aligning talent strategy and business process to business strategy to create high performing organizations. Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Franklin & Marshall College.
Vice President and General Manager, Creative Professional
Chris oversees all of Monotype’s e-commerce businesses. He has served in various management and executive management positions since joining the company in 2001. Prior to Monotype, Chris was part of the marketing management team at Hifi.com/Cambridge Soundworks. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Michael’s College and a master’s degree in business administration from Clarkson University.
Daniel T. Gerron
Vice President, Corporate Development
Dan is responsible for the company’s strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions efforts. Dan began with Monotype in 2008 as vice president of business development. Prior to that, he served as vice president of mergers and acquisitions at Pitney Bowes and as vice president of business planning at MapInfo. Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in Asian studies and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Vice President, Product Management
Tim joined Monotype in May, 2013, and leads a team that drives product strategy and go-to-market planning. Prior to Monotype, Tim held senior positions in product management and product marketing at Nuance Communications, Cision, Webhire and Lotus Development. Within these diverse tech companies, he built product management teams and led product line and business model transformations from traditional enterprise software solutions to SaaS and cloud-based product and service platforms. Tim earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in business administration from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth.
Vice President and General Manager, OEM
Joe has served as Monotype’s vice president and general manager of Display Imaging since January 2013. Prior to that, he held positions as director of sales and senior business development manager for the unit. Prior to joining Monotype, Joe was an OEM sales manager at Nuance Communications and Agfa. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Montana State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Managing Director of Monotype India
As managing director of Monotype India, Neeraj leads teams of expert technologists and type designers who create and deliver comprehensive solutions and customized fonts for diverse organizations and applications. Prior to joining Monotype, he was the managing director of Ciena India, a provider of global network solutions, where he was instrumental in establishing the organization from the ground up, including functions such as research and development, sales, services, human resources, public relations and operations. Neeraj also spent seven years at Bell Northern Research, Nortel, Lightera Networks and Ciena Corporation in the areas of network planning and design, and product development. He has 12 U.S. patents to his credit and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Managing Director, Monotype Imaging Hong Kong Ltd.
Ricky has been part of the Monotype family since 1992, when he joined subsidiary China Type Design Ltd. as an engineer. In that role, he developed PostScript®-compatible font programs and in-house production tools. Since then, Ricky has held positions in sales, marketing, technical support, and product development, eventually serving as managing director of China Type Design when it was fully acquired by Monotype in 2006. He holds BSc, BE, and master’s degrees in engineering science from the University of New South Wales in Australia.
Managing Director, Monotype GmbH
Frank has served as the managing director of Monotype GmbH, formerly Linotype GmbH, since September 2006. Prior to that, he was director of sales and marketing at Linotype. Frank also served in various executive management positions in Germany and Spain at Fredenhagen, a leading provider of material handling and automation for the automotive industry. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Technische Hochschule Darmstadt (University of Darmstadt) and a master’s degree in business administration from Escuela de Administración de Empresas (EAE Business School) in Barcelona.
